MAIN STREET PROJECT NEWS FLASHES

Welcome to the news flash page. Updates are divided into two categories. Updates dealing with the actual construction work on Main Street will be under the Construction Update section. Updates having to do with MSP events and business will go under the Project Updates section. Make sure to check back here often to keep informed.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

Economy Paving crews installed stone seating benches at the bank plaza on Monday December 18th 2006. This marks that last job to do for the season and all construction crews have left the work site until late spring/early summer 2007. At that time crews will return to install the landscaping, second wave bricks, and other Main Street fixtures such as streelights, benches, and bluestone engravings. As construction work has ended the MSP website and blog will be showing less activity until work resumes. However, please do keep turning to these vectors for periodic information throughout the rest of 2006 and early 2007.

PROJECT UPDATES

Almost all first wave brick are on Main Street! Syrstone crews made a suprise visit in mid-December and installed all those bricks that did not request a spot by the fairground or school. You can look for your brick by the Rongo, NAPA, Masonic Temple, and bank. The fairground and school bricks will be installed next summer when the MSP hopes a brick installation would have developed at those locations. If not, those aforementioned bricks will go in other areas along with the second wave bricks.

The deadline for second wave brick is FAST approaching. Please have your order forms and payment in by Sunday December 31st 2006 to the Village Office on Main Street. Feel free to use the mail slot if you swing by when the office is closed. Remember, please have your orders in by December 31st 2006!
