School, Downtown, and Funny Names
Art Sullivan - 5th Grade Winner
The day starts with me getting up. I go down stairs and have breakfast. Then I rush outside and run to school. I go to the tall middle school. I'm in fifth grade. I like going to the middle school because you get more privileges. The middle school is the brick red building. I walk up the black sidewalk to the school. It's very peaceful to walk to the school alone. The landscape is very beautiful.
My lock is the closest to my homeroom. Mr. Reed, my homeroom teacher is standing by the door. He says, "Hey Art the Dart." He would always call me that. He was very funny.
After announcements we had our first period. In math my first period we worked with graphs. In science my second period we seperated soil, gravel, salt, and water. At third period English we did this thing where about writing what it's like to being a Trumansburg kid for some contest. After P.E., lunch, and chorus I went to reading. In reading we are reading Treasure Island. The next period I had Social Studies. We were watching a video on the government. My exploratory the last thing of the day, was the best period. I had French for mine. We were learning the numbers.
At the end of school my friend and I went down to S&S the video and card store. My friend and I both got baseball cards. I got a Barry Bonds. He got a Roger Clements.
When we came out I see all the restaurants - The Rongo, Ron Dons, The New York Pizzeria. I think "Mmmmmmm pizza that sounds good." My friend says, "want to read? There is a bench over there." I say, "sure." I take out my tattered Lord of the Rings book. "Man I wish there was a book store in town. Then I could by a new one. I could go to the library but I don't have my library card".
At 4:00 I went home, had dinner, did my homework, and fell asleep.
